Over a £1000 pounds was raised and is being donated to The Queen’s Hospital Burton upon Trent CT scanner appeal!

The Queen?s Hospital has so far raised over £200,000 towards the £500,000 it needs to buy the new CT scanner. “I’m delighted to announce that we are adding another £1,083.67 towards the total required” said Andrew.  This total was raised from the Pyjama Jive party held on Friday 30thApril where modern jivers from around the midlands attended to support Andrews birthday event. Organiser Andrew Eldridge used his birthday as an excuse to create this fund raiser and get everyone together for a night of fun whilst helping a wonderful cause.

Nikki Rose & Patricia Rookyard who run modern jive classes as Want2Dance Burton and Dosthill were delighted to supply the music and equipment without charge and Carol provided the free use of the dance floor at the Belvedere club which meant every penny raised would go direct to the fund.

tom norma dance booker pyjama jive partyThe new machine is capable of producing a full body scan in just three seconds and will help in two key ways, minimising the need for invasive procedures during diagnosis and assisting doctors to pinpoint the source of the problem.  In addition to cancer, this machine will help in the detection and pinpointing the source of many different conditions and so Andrew felt that the funds would be put to a greater use in helping more people to benefit.
